Challenges

The Township of Woodbridge had struggled with inconsistencies in their previous software for some time. They used multiple software vendors and applications that did not integrate with each other, requiring manual postings for each and resulting in numerous user errors. Due to these inconsistencies, the software also varied on a client-by-client basis and became a one-person operation with limited support. Unfortunately, this meant that there was no succession plan in place, and eventually the software became unsustainable.

Action

The Township’s Tax Collector had used the Edmunds GovTech system prior to his employment with Woodbridge and was thoroughly impressed with its capabilities and customer support strength. When Woodbridge began their search for a new ERP software provider, they wanted a system that would eliminate the customer service and inconsistency problems that they experienced with their previous providers.

Implemented Modules

  • Finance Super Suite
  • Electronic Requisitions
  • Developers Escrow
  • Human Resources
  • Tax Billing & Collection
  • Utility Billing & Collections
  • Web Inquiry & Payment Portal

Results

Since implementing Edmunds GovTech in 2008, Woodbridge has experienced the benefits of using a fully-integrated system. The Township no longer has to manually post data to multiple software systems, which has made their business processes seamless and eliminated redundant postings between different departments. Their favorite feature about Edmunds is that the support staff can access their system remotely and walk them through any issues they are facing.
